About Mind the Fen
Mind the Fen is a browser MMORPG cut down to the smallest thing that is still an MMORPG. There is one field, one room, one enemy, one attack and one thing to buy. It is free, and it runs in your browser.
Everybody is called player
Sign up with an email address and you are player, the same as everyone else. A six-character slug is the only thing that tells two players apart. The enemy is called enemy. The shopkeeper is called shopkeeper.
How to play
- Walk the fen with the arrow keys or WASD.
- Press Space to swing your sword at the oozes that wander the field.
- Each ooze you defeat pays you gold.
- Spend ten gold in the shop on a potion, or stand still and heal slowly.
- If you fall, you walk back from the start and keep your gold.
- Talk to everyone in the world through global chat.
Built by its players
The game is an experiment in community development. Signed-in players write what they want on the feedback page: a bug, a change, an idea. A developer works through what comes in, and the game changes from it. Every submission is shown on a public board with its status.
